For spring break, we all flew to to a small resort town in the Big Bend area named Lajitas. We landed at their private air strip, and they sent someone to pick us up.
The town is themed after an old west called the "Badlands", which is complete with hitching posts in front of each store front.
We went for a hike to the adjacent Big Bend National Park and climbed to the top of a mesa. We had some nice meals on the veranda of the restaurant, and then lounged by the pool for our siesta.
We had a great time, but it was time to head home. We would recommend it to anyone seeking a getaway.
